Free Online Teleprompter: Paste Your Script and Press Play
A free teleprompter that runs in your browser. Paste your script, set the speed and text size, and press Play; the text scrolls past a reading line at the pace you choose. Mirror it for a glass rig or go full screen on the screen under the glass. No signup, no watermark, nothing to install, and your script never leaves this browser.
Keyboard (click the prompter first): Space to play or pause, ↑ and ↓ to change speed, Esc to leave full screen.
How to Use This Online Teleprompter
- Paste your script into the box. It’s saved in this browser, so a reload won’t lose it.
- Pick a text size you can read from where you’ll sit, then set a speed a little slower than you talk.
- Press Play or the Space bar and read at the reading line. Use ↑ and ↓ to adjust speed on the fly.
- For a glass rig, turn on Mirror and press Full screen on the screen under the glass.

When a Browser Tab Is Not Enough
You share your screen
A teleprompter in a normal tab is captured like anything else when you share or record your screen on Zoom, Meet, Teams, Loom or OBS. An invisible teleprompter for screen sharing stays out of the capture.
You don’t want to set a speed
This free tool scrolls at a fixed speed, so you match the scroll instead of talking naturally. Voice-following prompters (ShareSpeak, and some web apps) wait when you pause and keep up when you speed up.
You reuse scripts
This free tool keeps one draft in your browser. ShareSpeak keeps a named library per call, client or video, with word count and speaking time.
ShareSpeak: the desktop teleprompter, $14.99 once
It follows your voice, sits on top of any app, and stays hidden when you share your screen, on Mac and Windows. 2 devices per license, no subscription. Compare it with other free options on our free teleprompters compared page, or the Mac picks in the best teleprompter for Mac list.

Online teleprompter FAQ
Is this online teleprompter really free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no signup, no watermark and nothing to install. Your script stays in your own browser (saved locally so a reload doesn't lose it); nothing is uploaded.
How do I use an online teleprompter?
Paste your script into the box, set the speed and text size, and press Play or the Space bar. Keep your eyes on the reading line; press Space again to pause, and use the arrow keys to speed up or slow down. Full screen gives you the biggest text.
Can I mirror the text for a teleprompter glass?
Yes. Turn on Mirror and the text flips horizontally, so it reads correctly in the reflection of a beam-splitter glass rig. Open the page on the tablet or monitor under the glass and press Full screen (on iPhone, Safari keeps the browser bar).
Does it work on Mac, Windows and iPad?
Yes, in any modern browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Mac, Windows, Chromebook and tablets. On an iPhone, ShareSpeak's free iPhone app adds voice scrolling and camera recording.
Will people see this teleprompter if I share my screen?
Yes, if it's on the screen or window you share: it's a normal browser tab. To read a script on Zoom, Teams or Meet without your audience seeing it, use a desktop overlay that screen sharing doesn't capture, like ShareSpeak ($14.99 once, Mac and Windows).
Does it follow my voice?
No, this free tool scrolls at the speed you set. ShareSpeak's desktop app follows your voice: it scrolls as you talk and waits when you stop.
